Travelling in a Group
Who are Majesty Uk Travel travellers?
Majesty UK Travel offers unique and exciting adventures for travelers who seek to explore uncharted territories. Whether you're a lone explorer or prefer to travel with a group of friends, there is an adventure suited for everyone's interests and comfort level. Majesty UK Travel provides each adventure with a physical and cultural grading to help you determine if the trip is suitable for you. The majority of our adventures do not require any special skills, just a sense of adventure and an open mind to experience the world. Our camping adventures are also accessible for first-time campers as our tents are easy to set up. Join us on an unforgettable adventure and create memories that will last a lifetime.
How many people will be on my trip?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we believe that smaller group sizes offer a more intimate and authentic travel experience. We keep our group sizes small to remain flexible and minimize our impact on the communities we visit. Depending on the trip style, our group sizes range from 6-16 people for Comfort Style trips to 16-36+ people for Standard Style trips, with an average of 15 people. Our Overland trips are tailored to the group size, and we have purpose-built vehicles to ensure everyone travels in comfort. You can find the specific group size for each trip on the trip's overview page on our website.
Are there age restrictions on your trips?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we welcome all travelers who share our passion for adventure and exploration. We offer a wide range of trips to suit different age groups, preferences, and travel styles. For the majority of our trips, the minimum age requirement is 12 years old, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult. However, we do have Family trips and Short Break Adventures that are suitable for younger children, with minimum age requirements indicated on each trip's overview page on our website. While there is no maximum age limit for most of our trips, passengers who are 70 years and over must complete a Self-Assessment Form. Join us and experience the thrill of adventure, no matter what your age.
Who will be my group leader?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we know that having an excellent leader can make all the difference in your travel experience. Although we cannot disclose your leader's name before your journey, we can promise you that they will be fantastic. Our leaders are knowledgeable about the regions they travel to, either because they have spent years travelling there themselves or because they are locals who are eager to showcase their hometowns. In some cases, you may have the opportunity to meet two leaders, especially on longer journeys or ones that visit multiple countries, doubling the fun and excitement.
Can I just do part of the trip?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we understand that sometimes unexpected situations can arise, and you may need to adjust your travel plans. While we don't offer reimbursement for unused portions of the trip, we're always here to help you find a solution that works for you. If you need to leave the trip earlier than planned, just let us know before your departure, and we'll work with our local teams to ensure a smooth transition for you. Similarly, if you're running late, we'll notify our team on the ground to make sure they're aware and can make arrangements to accommodate your arrival.
Can I make any changes to the itinerary of my group trip, either before or during the trip?
We want to make sure that you are completely satisfied with your group trip itinerary before booking because we are not able to make changes for individual travellers. However, if you have a group of friends, colleagues, or even a school group, who want a customized itinerary, our Private Groups team can help you create one. They are highly skilled in designing itineraries to meet the needs and preferences of different groups, so don't hesitate to contact them if you want a unique trip tailored just for you.
Can I add an extra night on the beginning or end of my group trip, either before or during the trip?
You sure can. Just ask your travel specialist at the time of booking.
Travelling Solo
I’m travelling alone – is that OK?
This is the beauty of the Majesty Uk Travel style of travel: many of our travellers join because they are travelling solo and want to meet and share experiences with like-minded people.
If I am travelling solo, will I be charged for having my own room?
Majesty Uk Travel understands the importance of comfortable and safe accommodation during trips. To ensure that everyone has a pleasant experience, rooming is organised on a twin-share basis. Solo travellers are paired up with another traveller of the same gender, based on the gender marker on their passport. For those who prefer their own space, there is an option to pay for an individual room on the majority of our trips. We want to make sure that all of our guests feel welcome and respected, which is why we strive to create a safe and inclusive environment for everyone. In the case that your gender identity differs from what is indicated on your passport, please contact us so that we can discuss rooming options with you. Some of our itineraries may have accommodations booked on an open gender, multi-share basis, and we will clearly state this in our Trip Notes prior to booking and travelling.
I have a disability - can i join a Majesty Uk Travel trip ?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we believe that travel should be accessible to everyone, regardless of physical or mental ability. We understand that some of our itineraries may require a certain level of physical fitness, and we encourage you to consider this when choosing your trip. However, we are committed to making reasonable adjustments wherever possible to accommodate the needs of disabled travellers. This may include booking ground floor accommodation or providing written directions in addition to verbal communication. We have found that many travellers with disabilities have had a positive experience on our trips by travelling with a companion who can provide additional assistance. In cases where a group trip may not be practical, we may be able to arrange a private departure to better suit your needs. Please don't hesitate to contact our sales team to discuss your requirements further.
Are Majesty Uk Travel trips suitable for LGBTQI travellers?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we are committed to providing a safe and inclusive travel experience for everyone, including members of the LGBTQI community. We understand that some destinations have laws that discriminate against LGBTQI people, and it’s important for our travellers to be aware of local customs and laws. To ensure everyone feels comfortable on our trips, we pair solo travellers with someone of the same gender as per their passport or booking information. If your gender identity differs from your passport information, please let us know so we can make appropriate arrangements. We also offer a Single Supplement option for travellers who prefer their own room.
Discrimination, violence, and harassment have no place on our trips, and we take any reports of such behaviour very seriously. If you feel uncomfortable or witness any inappropriate behaviour, please inform your tour leader or local guide immediately, or use the emergency contact number provided in your Trip Notes.
Room types
Can we book a triple room?
Depending on the trip style you choose, our trips are organised on a twin, triple or multishare basis. As our bookings are made well in advance, individual room requests can’t be guaranteed.
Can I book a single room?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we understand the importance of privacy and comfort when it comes to accommodation during your travels. While we organise rooming on a twin-share basis for the majority of our trips, we do offer the option for solo travellers to book pre and post accommodation on a single basis. If you'd like to have your own space during the trip, please check the trip's overview page or the Trip Notes to see if individual rooms are available. In the case where individual rooms are offered, kindly inform us at the time of booking. For solo travellers, we pair you with a traveller of the same gender as per the gender marker on each of your passports to ensure that everyone is comfortable during the trip.
Food, drink and dietary requirements
I have special dietary requirements – will they be catered for?
At Majesty UK Travel, we understand that dietary requirements are important, and we are committed to catering to your needs as best as we can. However, in some remote areas, it may be challenging to meet specific dietary requests. If this is the case on your trip, we will inform you in advance. To ensure that we can accommodate your dietary needs, please let us know when you make your booking. We will then pass on the information to your tour leader. It is also recommended that you carry a card with your dietary requirements written in the local language to help communicate your needs if you dine away from the group.
What will the food be like on my trip?
Exploring the local cuisine is one of the highlights of travelling. While you might come across some familiar dishes, you'll also get to try new and exotic foods that will tantalize your taste buds. We believe that food is a sensory adventure that complements the overall travel experience. Our itineraries are designed to be flexible, giving you the option to dine with the group or explore on your own. This allows you to choose what you want to eat and cater to your budget and preferences. Whether you're a foodie or not, there's something for everyone to enjoy on our trips.
Before you depart
How do I obtain Trip Notes with full details of my trip?
It's essential to be well-prepared before embarking on a trip. We highly recommend bringing all the necessary documents and items that are listed in your trip notes. These notes provide a comprehensive guide to every aspect of your journey, including details about your itinerary, accommodation, transportation, and more. You can easily access your trip notes through our website by visiting the facts page for your specific trip. They are located in the middle of the page and are accessible at any time. So be sure to review your trip notes carefully and bring all the necessary items to make your trip a success.
Travel Insurance
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our travellers, we require that travel insurance is mandatory for all international trips. This means that you need to have a policy that covers medical expenses and emergency repatriation as a minimum requirement. If you're travelling within your home country or region, please make sure that you have easy access to the public medical system in case of an emergency. It is also strongly recommended that your policy covers COVID-19 personal liability, cancellation, curtailment, and loss of luggage or personal effects. Please note that you won't be allowed to join the group on international trips until you provide evidence of travel insurance and the insurance company's 24-hour emergency contact number. For more information about insurance requirements, please check the Trip Notes for your specific trip.
Are you planning an international trip and in need of travel insurance? Look no further than battleface travel insurance. They provide customised travel medical products for destinations worldwide, even those under government advisories. With their 24/7 emergency travel and medical assistance services, you can feel secure no matter where your travels take you. Cover is available for UK and EU residents, as well as an additional 50+ countries. battleface was even awarded International Travel & Health Insurer of the Year in 2020. To learn more about their comprehensive coverage and services, visit their website at battleface.com. Keep in mind that battleface insurance is provided in the UK by battleface Insurance Services Limited, a Financial Conduct Authority authorised and regulated intermediary. Please review the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations before purchasing travel insurance to ensure the policy is suitable for your needs.
We at Majesty UK Travel want to emphasize that we act solely as an "introducer" to battleface insurance and do not recommend any particular insurance policy. It is your responsibility as a traveler to choose the insurance policy that best suits your individual needs. We strongly recommend that you carefully review the policy details and understand the terms, conditions, exclusions, and limitations before making a decision. Your travel insurance policy is an essential aspect of your trip, so be sure to make an informed choice.
Entry and health requirements
If you're planning to travel soon, it's important to stay up-to-date with the latest information on travel documents and visa requirements. In addition, many countries have implemented COVID-19 vaccination and quarantine policies that may affect your travel plans. To help you navigate these requirements, we provide destination-specific information on our website, including general vaccination requirements that can be found under the Medical and Health Information section of each trip's Trip Notes. We encourage all travelers to carefully review this information before embarking on their journey.
Visa Information
How do I find out about the visa requirements for the trip I am interested in?
We understand that visa regulations can be complicated and subject to change at short notice. Although we strive to keep our Trip Notes updated with the latest information and provide guidance on entry, visa and health requirements on our website, we advise our passengers to double-check with their local embassy before embarking on their trip. Embassy websites in your home country are a reliable source of information on visa requirements, fees, and application forms. If you find the visa process overwhelming or time-consuming, you may seek the assistance of a reputable travel agent who can handle the visa application process for you, albeit for a fee.
How do I organise my Visa?
Please contact the relevant local embassy, or visit a travel agent, to organise your visa/s.
My application says I need a letter of invitation or other supporting documentation, do you provide these?
Some destinations require additional support documentation from Majesty Uk Travel to obtain a visa, particularly in Central Asia and Iran. The 'visa section' of your Trip Notes will detail what you need to provide, such as scanned passports and employment letters. We advise that you carefully review this section and ensure you submit all required documents in a timely manner to avoid any delays in obtaining your visa.
Safety and medical information
I am concerned about the political stability of the country through which my trip will travel.
At Majesty UK Travel, ensuring the safety of our passengers, leaders and operators is a matter of utmost priority. We constantly keep a close watch on global events and base our operational decisions on the advice we receive from various reliable sources. Our aim is to provide a safe and secure environment for our clients to travel in, and to ensure that their experience with us is memorable for all the right reasons.
How safe are my belongings whilst on the trip?
While we take all the precautions we can to make sure your belongings are safe, we are travelling to some exciting destinations that are sometimes home to some pretty skilled thieves. Travel insurance is a must and a lockable bag or money belt will always help too.
What is the best way to carry money?
We recommend having access to money from a variety of sources – cash, cards and travel money cards are all commonly used. Check your Trip Notes and the relevant Destination Page on our website for more country-specific information.
Will refrigeration be available for medicines? eg. Insulin
While Majesty Uk Travel's city hotels generally provide access to small fridges, the availability of refrigeration cannot be guaranteed in all environments, particularly when trekking or staying in homestays. Therefore, it is important to let the travel company know if you are traveling with medication that requires refrigeration. This information can help Majesty Uk Travel to make necessary arrangements to ensure that your medication is properly stored and that your health needs are met during your trip.
What are the medical and vaccination requirements?
Each country has its own specific medical and vaccination requirements that are constantly evolving. As travel companies, we do not have the necessary medical expertise to advise our passengers on their specific needs. For personalized advice, we recommend that you consult with your local GP or travel doctor to determine the most appropriate medical preparations for your destination. It's always wise to be informed about the latest developments in COVID-19 vaccination requirements, which are readily available from various sources.
What if I get ill or injured on the trip and unable to continue?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we understand that unexpected illnesses can occur while travelling, and we are fully prepared to handle such situations. Our leaders are trained to respond promptly to any medical emergency and provide the necessary assistance to our passengers. In case you need to leave the trip early due to illness, our local offices will help you find appropriate medical care and ensure that your loved ones back home are informed about the situation. We will make all possible arrangements to get you back home or continue your journey, and your compulsory travel insurance should cover any medical costs incurred due to illness.
Currency information
What is the currency in my destination? How much should I take in credit cards/cash? Can I use my credit card during my trip?
To help our travelers budget for their trips, we provide a dedicated section on "Spending Money" in our Trip Notes. While travelers' checks are not commonly used anymore, we recommend bringing a credit card and an ATM card, or a bank-issued travel cash card, to ensure that you have options for accessing money while abroad. However, in some countries, access to cash may be unreliable, and it's not uncommon for a card to work one day but not the next. It's always a good idea to have a backup plan in case one card doesn't work. Visa cards are generally more widely accepted than Mastercard, especially in Cuba, where only Visa cards are accepted.
What should I bring?
What type of luggage do you recommend I take?
On most Majesty Uk Travel trips you will be required to carry your own luggage, sometimes up stairs and on and off transport. We therefore recommend you travel mainly with a backpack.
Can I store excess luggage at the starting point hotel?
If you're carrying excess luggage that you don't need for your trip, most starting point hotels can store it for you. However, it's important to note that this service is usually offered at your own risk, and some hotels may charge a small fee for it. It's also important to keep in mind that this service is only helpful if your trip is circular, meaning that you'll be returning to the same starting point at the end of your journey. If you're unsure about whether or not you'll need a particular item of luggage, it may be best to leave it at home to avoid any unnecessary fees or complications.
Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
At Majesty UK Travel, we provide a wide range of travel experiences, and for a select few trips that involve camping, we require our passengers to bring a sleeping bag. However, in instances where we use homestays, we make sure to provide blankets for our guests. Nevertheless, we understand that some passengers may prefer to bring their own sleeping bags or sleep sheets for added comfort, which is entirely up to personal preference. If you're unsure whether a sleeping bag is required for your trip, you can always refer to your Trip Notes for more information.
What clothes and footwear should I take on treks?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we believe in providing our travellers with the best possible experience. That's why we highly recommend wearing hiking boots on our more physical trips, especially those with a rating of 3 or above. However, for trips with a rating below 3, sneakers or runners should be enough. Keep in mind that many of our treks take place in extremely cold environments, so it's essential to pack accordingly and research the climate and weather conditions at the time of year you'll be trekking. Additionally, to help you pack for your trip, we've included a helpful packing checklist in your Trip Notes.
What essential documents do I need to take?
It’s important that you always travel with your current passport, visas, travel insurance and Majesty Uk Travel documentation.
Trip changes or cancellations
What happens if my trip is cancelled?
We never want to cancel a trip, but sometimes things happen. Find our more information about cancellations, credits and refunds on our Terms & Conditions page.
On your trip
Arrival information
What time can I check in at my arrival hotel?
The time for hotel check-in may differ from one hotel to another and from region to region. Although, most hotels generally allow check-in between midday and 2 pm. If you arrive at the hotel earlier than the check-in time, you can leave your luggage with the hotel and utilize the time to explore the surrounding area until the check-in time. This can be a good opportunity to discover nearby attractions or to simply relax and enjoy the local environment before checking in.
Can I request an early check-in?
In case you arrive early and want to check-in before the standard time, we cannot guarantee an early check-in. However, our sales team can help you book a night of pre-accommodation at the same hotel. Alternatively, if you do not want to spend extra money on an additional night, you can try your luck by approaching the hotel directly, as they may allow early check-in if the room is available. Otherwise, you can store your luggage and explore the local area until the check-in time.
Are airport transfers included in the trip price? If not, how much will a taxi cost from the airport? If not, how do I get to and from airports?
Each of our trips comes with an arrival airport transfer that is included in the trip price. If you wish to add a departure transfer to your booking, you can do so when making your reservation or by contacting us later on. Certain trips already include both arrival and departure transfers - please refer to the ‘’ Services Included ‘’ section for more information. Your Trip Notes will provide you with 'Joining Point instructions', which include details on how to find your transfer, as well as the estimated taxi fare from your hotel to the airport. While the cost of the transfer may be higher than a regular taxi ride, it is worth remembering that you are paying for a private service with a trusted driver who can offer the peace of mind and security that many travellers seek when arriving in a foreign country.
What is the name of the hotel where my trips starts?
This information can be found in your Trip Notes.
Activities
Can I opt out of certain activities if I want to?
Certainly. Majesty Uk Travel understands that travellers have different preferences and interests, and we respect that. If you do not wish to take part in any of the included or optional activities on our tours, you are free to explore the destination on your own. However, please note that in certain cases, such as when trekking or travelling from one place to another, it may not be possible to opt out of certain activities. Additionally, if you choose to skip an included activity, we regret that we cannot offer any reimbursement or compensation for the cost of that activity.
How difficult is the trek on my trip?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we offer a wide range of trekking options with varying levels of difficulty. To ensure that you choose the right trek for your abilities and fitness level, we provide a ‘physical rating’ for each trip. You can find this rating on the overview page of the trip on our website. It is important to pay attention to this rating to ensure that you select a trek that matches your fitness and experience. With our diverse range of treks, we have something for everyone, from beginners to experienced hikers looking for a challenge.
Do I get any free time?
Majesty Uk Travel believes in providing its travellers with a flexible itinerary that allows them to explore and experience each destination at their own pace. Upon reaching a destination, your trip leader will present a range of activity options. You can choose to participate in the suggested activities or select an entirely different activity that appeals to you. Alternatively, you may prefer to unwind and relax by reading a book or lounging in a hammock. Your Trip Notes provide additional information on the itinerary and schedule, helping you to plan your activities and make the most of your time at each location.
What if I arrive late and miss part of the trip?
If for any reason you anticipate arriving late to your Majesty Uk Travel tour, it is important to inform the sales team as soon as possible. This will allow the leader to be notified, and arrangements can be made for you to meet up with the group at a later time. However, if you are unable to catch up with the group due to arriving a day or two later, you will be responsible for meeting up with them at their current location. In this case, the most up-to-date information on the group's whereabouts and schedule will be provided. Should unforeseen circumstances or flight delays cause your lateness, the emergency contact number in the Trip Notes should be called. It is essential to note that Majesty Uk Travel cannot reimburse any portion of the trip that is missed due to your lateness, but this can often be claimed on your travel insurance.
Amenities
Are there western toilets available?
Some trips have regular access to western toilets while others don't – it just depends on the areas you’re travelling in. As a general rule, the more remote the place the less likely you are to find western bathroom facilities.
Will I be able to do any laundry?
Along the way there are usually chances to do laundry, either through your hotel or using local services. Your leader will be able to let you know once you are on the trip.
Accommodation
Can you provide me a list of places we are staying at?
At Majesty Uk Travel, we take pride in supporting local businesses and providing our travelers with authentic experiences. Therefore, we typically have a few different accommodations in each city that we rotate between for our groups. Due to this, we are unable to provide a full list of accommodations before your trip. However, during the welcome meeting on the first day, your group leader may be able to provide you with the specific details so that you can share them with your loved ones back home. In the meantime, the joining and finish point accommodations are listed in your Trip Notes for your convenience.
What standard of accommodation should I expect?
The standard of accommodation depends on the Trip Style you have chosen.
Is accommodation air-conditioned/ heated?
We want our passengers to be as comfortable as possible so when you are headed to a hot climate, it is likely that you will either have a air-con.
Keeping in touch with home
What communication facilities will be available?
With the increasing availability of communication facilities worldwide, it has become easier to stay connected with loved ones while travelling. Most hotels and public places now offer Wi-Fi, enabling travellers to communicate with home every few days. However, in more remote locations like the Sahara, Serengeti, or on treks and homestays, communication can be limited. Before leaving a place, your leader will usually give you a heads-up so you can send a quick email. To make phone calls, phone cards are readily available, but ensure that your phone is unlocked before travelling. Alternatively, in many countries, internet cafes offer the cheapest way to make phone calls.
How can friends and family contact you?
If family and friends are unable to contact you in an emergency through email or phone, they can contact Majesty Uk Travel directly. Emergency contact details (for your destination) are listed in your Trip Notes, or they can contact one of our Global Sales offices, who can pass on a message if required.
Will my mobile work?
It's important to be prepared when it comes to using your phone abroad. While we can't guarantee that your phone will work in all of our destinations due to limited coverage, we recommend speaking with your phone provider before you leave to discuss global roaming and associated costs. They can also provide information on the coverage you can expect in the places you'll be travelling to. Another option is to purchase a local SIM card once you arrive (just make sure your phone is unlocked beforehand!). This can be a more affordable way to stay connected while you're on the go.
Will I get internet coverage?
Some places have Wi-Fi hot spots everywhere and other places will have no coverage at all. If you stumble into the latter, take the rare chance to just sit back and get to know your fellow travellers the old-fashioned way.
Will I be able to charge my electrical appliances?
In most places you’ll be able to recharge your appliances at the hotel. We recommend you bring a travel adapter with you. On our Overland trips, most vehicles come with their own power supply and you should be able to recharge onboard. Be sure to bring an extra camera battery just in case.
Transport
What type of ground transportation is used?
Our Guided Tour ensures that your travel experience is not only enjoyable, but also comfortable and efficient. Our modern coaches are equipped with state-of-the-art features such as air-conditioning, comfortable seats, panoramic windows, secure storage, and a sound system to enhance your journey. Our expert coach drivers are experienced and knowledgeable about the best and most picturesque routes to ensure that you arrive at your destination safely, seamlessly, and on time. Our coaches are some of the most efficient and comfortable available in Europe, Middle-East, and Africa, making your travel experience as smooth and pleasant as possible.
Tipping information
Is tipping commonplace in other parts of the world?
Yes, in most places tipping is expected. At your welcome meeting, ask your leader about the local custom and advice on how much is recommended at restaurants or with local guides.
When travelling with Majesty Uk Travel, it's important to note that tipping your leader is not mandatory, but it is a way to show your appreciation for their hard work and excellent service. Your leader plays a vital role in ensuring that your trip runs smoothly, and providing a tip can be a great way to express your gratitude. Tipping is a longstanding tradition in the travel industry, and it's a way to support local economies and communities. If you do decide to tip your leader, the amount is entirely up to you, and you can discuss the appropriate amount with your fellow travelers or consult your Trip Notes for guidance.
COVID-19
Our response to COVID-19
At Majesty UK Travel, we take the safety and wellbeing of our travellers very seriously. We understand that vaccinations are a crucial element in safeguarding public health, and as such, we require all our travellers and tour leaders to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We also keep up to date with the latest guidelines from the World Health Organization and the WTTC's Safe Travel protocols.
Before every trip, we conduct a thorough risk assessment and audit, and all our operators and leaders receive ongoing COVID-19 health and safety training to ensure they adhere to the highest standards. Additionally, we only work with hotels, transport providers, and suppliers who meet our stringent COVID-19 safety standards to provide a safe and enjoyable travel experience for all our customers.
COVID-19 proof of vaccination policy
Travellers are required to produce proof of COVID-19 vaccination on all of our trips.
In the interest of ensuring the safety of our travelers and staff, we require all travelers and tour leaders to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. However, we understand that some individuals may not be able to receive the vaccine due to medical reasons. In such cases, we offer exemptions that will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. To apply for an exemption, a medical certificate from a qualified medical professional is required. Children under the age of 18 are exempted from the vaccine requirement, but those aged 5-17 must provide proof of vaccination, recovery, or a negative COVID-19 test. Further details on these requirements for children can be found in the section below.
What type of COVID-19 test do you accept?
We accept a number of different tests:
- Nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs) such as the RT-PCR, RT-LAMP, TMA, NEAR or HAD tests. These are typically collected by nasopharyngeal swabs.
- Rapid antigen test. These can be either:
- Self-administered
- Administered by a medical professional
- Lateral Flow tests (if a verifiable test result can be produced).
You must be able to produce a verifiable test result (paper or digital). This may be in the form of a test result, a medical certificate or a travel certificate/ “fit to fly” certificate.
Where can I get a COVID-19 test?
This varies depending on where you are located and what types of COVID-19 tests are available. Contact your local medical professional, which could include a pharmacist, or government health authority for more information.

What happens if someone on a trip shows symptoms of COVID-19?
At Majesty UK Travel, we prioritize the health and safety of our customers. If a customer feels unwell during their trip, our trained and experienced leaders are available to assist them in accessing appropriate medical care. This includes facilitating COVID-19 testing if requested by the customer. In addition, we encourage customers to take extra precautions and bring their own rapid antigen tests (RAT) from home, in case of any unexpected illness. Our leaders will provide support and guidance every step of the way to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip for all.
If someone on a trip tests positive to COVID-19, do other travellers on the trip need to have a COVID-19 test?
In the event that a member of a trip tests positive for COVID-19, our top priority is the health and safety of our customers and staff. As part of our protocol, our leaders and crew will undergo mandatory testing. While it is not mandatory for other travellers on the trip to be tested, our leaders can help arrange for testing if any customer requests one. To streamline the process, customers may also choose to bring their own rapid antigen tests from home. We take every precaution to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our customers and staff.
Will my trip continue if someone on the trip tests positive for COVID-19?
In the unfortunate event that a customer tests positive for COVID-19 during the trip, our Majesty Uk Travel team will ensure they receive necessary medical care and support to leave the trip safely.
Depending on the destination, the customer may be required to isolate for a period of time. We will assess the situation on a case-by-case basis to determine whether the rest of the group can continue on the trip while adhering to local regulations. Our priority is to continue the trip wherever possible while maintaining the safety and well-being of all travelers.
If I’m required to take a test while on a trip, do I have to pay for it?
To ensure the safety of remote or vulnerable communities, we highly encourage you to bring your own rapid tests from home. Although a limited number of rapid tests may be available through your trip leaders, it's best to be prepared and bring your own. You should also be aware that some destinations may require you to take a rapid test before travelling into these communities, and the costs for these tests can vary. It's important to have access to funds in case of emergencies such as this. While we cannot always guarantee the availability of rapid tests through trip leaders, we do our best to provide necessary resources for our customers' safety.
Do I need to be vaccinated or take a COVID-19 test to enter a country, fly with an airline, cross a border or transit through an airport or access good and services in a country?
Before travelling, it is essential to check with the relevant airlines, airports, and government authorities to ensure you meet their entry, exit, and transit requirements. Each country and airline may have their own specific protocols and regulations that you need to follow. If you have booked your flights through Majesty Uk Travel, we can provide assistance in navigating your airline's requirements and identifying where to locate this information. Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need any support in this area.
How do you decide to resume travelling to a country?
Majesty Uk Travel prioritizes the safety and well-being of our customers, and we rely on government travel advisories to make informed decisions about our trip operations. Before returning to any destination, we conduct extensive audits and safety reviews to ensure that our customers can travel with confidence. Our teams on the ground and local partners are constantly monitoring the latest government health and safety guidance and regulations to ensure that we are providing the most up-to-date and accurate information to our customers.
How do you decide which trips will operate?
To ensure a trip is safe for travellers and the local communities, we look at a number of factors including:
- Government safety and travel advice
- Real time reviews and updates of current regulations by our local offices globally
- COVID-safe requirements and protocols
- Entry and exit requirements for travellers, including testing and quarantine
- Current medical facility and healthcare availability within a destination
- Flight and airline accessibility in and out of a destination
- Ability for our travellers to get travel insurance protection for, and regularly scheduled, reasonably priced flights to, our destinations
- Accessibility to everyday services, such as restaurants, public transport, cultural sites, etc.
- Our ability to deliver the same or comparable service, while recognising that this is a dynamic operating environment and some adjustments might need to be made to itineraries.
How do I know if my trip is going ahead?
In order to maintain the feasibility of travel for potential travellers, we usually wait until one to two months before the departure date of a trip before making a decision on whether it will proceed or not. This is due to the constantly evolving nature of travel restrictions. We inform travellers of their options at least one month before their scheduled departure date, providing ample time for them to make any necessary adjustments to their plans. However, in some cases, it may become necessary to cancel a trip at short notice due to changes in the aforementioned factors.
What are the entry and exit requirements for different countries?
Each destination has their own vaccination, testing and health screening requirements for entry, exit and transit. It’s also important that you check these on your government's foreign travel advice website as these may include requiring evidence of recent COVID-19 test results. We recommend checking this information frequently and right up until your departure date, due to requirements potentially changing.
What regulations will I need to follow when travelling?
As a responsible travel company, we believe that every traveler has a duty of care to themselves and those around them. When travelling with us, our customers are required to follow local laws and regulations, as well as our own health and safety guidelines. Additionally, each destination has its own set of vaccination, testing, and health screening requirements for entry, exit, and transit.
We urge our customers to keep in mind that government advice and regulations can change quickly and frequently. As stated in our booking conditions, it is the traveler's responsibility to ensure they have the necessary information and documents and meet the entry requirements for all destinations on their itinerary. This includes verifying the latest COVID-19 testing and vaccination requirements, which can be found on their government's foreign travel advice website. Additionally, it is important to ensure that travel insurance covers government advisory-related travel risks.
Are there any changes to group sizes in response to COVID-19?
We take pride in offering small and standard group adventures, as we believe this not only creates a more intimate and immersive travel experience, but also carries less inherent risk of COVID-19 transmission. Our average group size of 10 travellers provides a great balance of companionship and safety. We are committed to following local government guidance on permitted group sizes and will adjust our group sizes as needed to comply with these regulations. This may mean reducing group sizes for the entire trip, for certain activities, or in certain environments such as restaurants or transport.
Will there be changes made to the itinerary and inclusions of my trip due to COVID-19?
We understand that travellers are looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable holiday experience, which is why we have a dedicated team that monitors local developments to ensure that your trip runs smoothly. Sometimes, there may be closures or changes to attractions, restaurants or other planned activities, which can be out of our control. In such cases, we may have to make adjustments to the itinerary to comply with local regulations or our own health and safety protocols. We will always strive to keep you updated before departure through our online Trip Notes. We encourage all travellers to approach their trip with an open mind and flexibility, as this will help you make the most out of your journey.
Will I have to share a room with a stranger?
We strive to provide comfortable and affordable accommodation options for all of our travellers, and understand that some may prefer their own space. To accommodate solo travellers, we offer Single Supplements on most of our trips, allowing you to have your own room. We also work closely with our accommodation partners to ensure that more rooms are available for those who wish to room alone. While twin share is the standard, we want to ensure that all of our travellers have the option to choose the accommodation style that best suits their needs.
Will insurance cover me for COVID-19?
Travel insurance providers’ policies vary and many providers have some form of COVID-19 inclusions.
Will I have to wear a mask when travelling?
Masks must be worn by all travellers throughout the trip whenever required by local health authorities.
We recommend that all travellers, leaders and crew wear masks:
- To help reduce the spread of COVID-19
- As a normal part of interacting with other people
Masks are mandatory for travellers, leaders, crew and suppliers in any situation or destination when it is required by local government advice. In many countries, this includes (but is not limited to):
- Public and private transport
- Crowds or places where physical distancing is difficult
- Indoors (particularly in places with poor ventilation)
In accordance with local laws and regulations, it is mandatory for all travellers, crew, leaders, and suppliers in the destination to wear masks, regardless of their vaccination status. Even if you have been vaccinated, you will still be required to wear a mask, unless local regulations specify otherwise. We recommend that you contact your airline and check the foreign travel advice for your destination before traveling to ensure that you understand the mask requirements. It is important that you bring your own supply of masks to cover the duration of your travels, as our leaders can only provide masks as part of their first aid kit and are unable to supply masks for daily use for travellers.
Can I get a refund if I am unwell before my trip and unable to travel?
If you are unwell prior to travelling, please stay at home and contact us to make alternative arrangements.
Are there additional measures on marine trips?
Marine Trips require additional protocols due to the smaller spaces and nature of activities involved, which includes:
· Stringent sanitation protocols will be implemented on all boats and yachts, in accordance with local regulations.
· It is mandatory for all travellers, leaders, and crew members to comply with any additional health screening measures on board such as rapid antigen testing and temperature checking, which may vary depending on the boat and local regulations.
· As our sailing trips take place on a sailing yacht, the shared living spaces, bathrooms and cabins can be quite compact, making it challenging to maintain physical distancing.
· To ensure maximum comfort during the marine trips, single supplements can be purchased for solo travellers who want their own cabin.
Travellers are advised to bring their own snorkelling gear for a more personal and hygienic experience while enjoying water activities.
